Mount Battie Star Lighting, November 24
For many years it’s been a tradition of the Camden residents and Camden Hills State Park staff to illuminate a giant star at the peak of Mount Battie. This tradition takes place the Thanksgiving evening and is open to the public. The star is powered through the holiday season by a generator that is fired up manually each night at dusk for nearly 50 years. This event is a local favorite and a treat for all ages, even grown-ups!

From free horse-drawn wagon rides, the lighting of the “tree” made of lobster traps, all the way to Santa himself arriving aboard a U.S. Coast Guard boat, this festival is sure to get you into the holiday mood. "While visiting family, we stayed at the Camden Harbour Inn. It’s located a short walk away from downtown Camden and a lovely place to stay. Our room had a beautiful view of the Camden Harbor. They really paid attention to detail…Kate and Chris were wonderful to work with."
