CAMDEN PIES ON PARADE PACKAGE.......... It's a Vlaai not a Pie!

With two Dutch owners and the hotel also has a bit of French quality, being Michelin Key awarded and a Relais & Chateaux member; It happens that we like to share a bit of our European tradition and fun. In the southern part of the Netherlands is the Provence Limburg with the main city called Maastricht. A city and a region known for the ‘Burgundian Lifestyle’, a way of life that emphasizes enjoying good food, drinks and social activities. It shouldn’t be a surprise that one of Dutch most delicious pastries is from that region; called a Vlaai. In the weekend of March 14 we invite to join us in Camden Maine for the annual Pie on Parade. On Saturday 14 our pastry chef will share the secrets of making an original ‘Limburgse Vlaai’ and share why we call it a Vlaai and not a Pie. You also receive tickets for Pies on Parade, a fundraiser for AIO Food and Energy assistance, a much needed non-profit with so many social services cut deeply effecting the most vulnerable and in need of help. Culturally the Limburgse Vlaai, since 2022 protected by the EU, stands for bringing people together as a family. On the good days when we have something to celebrate or in difficult times when we commiserate. We thought the “American Pie” could use some help from a Dutch “Limburgse Vlaai”

This package including a two night stay, breakfast and a six-course Chef tasting dinner in addition to the baking class and tickets for the ‘Pies on Parade’ on Saturday March 15 starts at $865.00 based on two guests staying in a standard room. Package for one guest staying 2-nights in a standard room starts at $698.00

The package are non-refundable and you have the choice of arriving Friday March 13, or Saturday March 15, 2025. Tax and gratuity are not included and will be automatically added (20% for the 6-course Chef tasting) to your bill.

Note that on Saturday March 15 the cooking class starts at 11 AM and is about an hour. The class includes a welcome beverage and recipe. Both the class and tickets to the Pies on Parade are offered complimentary in this package.

The Pies on Parade starts on Friday March 14 with a movie “Life of Pi” at the Strand in Rockland. On Saturday March 15 the ticket includes 15 Pie stops in Camden and Rockport between 12.00PM and 3.30PM. On Sunday March 16 the Pies on Parade is held in Rockland and include 16 Pie stops between noon and 3.30PM. The package includes tickets for Saturday only.
